Reading (PK-2)
Hello Future Scholars,Are you ready to read? Are you ready to write? Are you ready to hone your gifts and talents? If so, then you are in the right place. My name is Taticasejuana N. Stevens, and I hail from the great state of Louisiana, turned 17-year Georgia Peach. I am married to Alfred Stevens, Jr. over 24 years and have two amazing sons, who are students at the illustrious Dekalb Christian Homeschool. I hold an undergraduate degree in Accounting, (Southern University A & M College, Baton Rouge, LA,) Master of Business Administration, (University of Phoenix, Baton Rouge, LA), Master of Procurement and Supply Chain Management, (Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA,) and I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. candidacy in Applied Management and Decision Sciences, with a concentration in Organizational Leadership and Management (Walden University). During the pandemic, I left Corporate America after 22 years in Accounting and Human Resources and started my own companies. I am the CEO and Founder of a for profit business called Stebeaux’s Educational Enterprises, LLC and a nonprofit, called Taylor Marie Bo Foundation, Inc. I am the Co-author/Illustrator of a book with my youngest son called, “An Illustrious Bike Party for Kia,” and the Illustrator of my oldest son’s book called, “Creating the Winning Team!” I am extremely passionate about children and adults learning to read. Did you know that 44 million adults who live in the United States, cannot read on or above 3rd grade reading level, according to National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) - also called The Nation's Report Card? If we cannot read, we cannot vote. If we cannot vote, we cannot create safe and equitable places for our children to compete and thrive in this global society. This class will require a collaborative effort from your child(ren), our scholars and future leaders, you as the parents, and myself. Through this effective partnership, there is no limit on how far your child can GO and GROW, because I will be encouraging him or her along the way. We will begin with phonics and sight words, and recognizing how to read, pronounce, and write the words. In addition, I will teach your child how to recognize the four types of sentences, and how to determine where which punctuation mark is placed. I look forward to working closely with you and your child, (our scholar and future leader) over the next 12 weeks. Please feel free to contact me at 770-866-4493.
