Instructor: Katrina Roman Parent Aid required Grades: Lower Elementary Spanish (K-2) ¡Hola Amigos! Get ready for a playful journey into the exciting world of Spanish language and culture! In this course designed for lower elementary-aged children, students will immerse themselves in engaging activities, songs, and games while developing fundamental Spanish language skills and cultural awareness. What Will Students Learn: Through interactive play, music, storytelling, and creative arts, students will develop basic Spanish vocabulary, simple phrases, and greetings. They will also explore cultural elements of Spanish-speaking countries, such as festivals, foods, and traditions, fostering an early appreciation for global diversity. Materials and Instructional Methods: Book: Skills For Success Elementary Spanish Workbook for Kids, Grades K-5 Spanish Vocabulary, Puzzles, and Writing Practice, Kindergarten — 5th Grade Spanish Classroom or Homeschool Curriculum - by Cynthia Downs Homeschool Languages: Spanish Level 1 Instructional methods will focus on hands-on exploration, sensory experiences, and interactive games to make learning Spanish enjoyable and accessible for young children. Prerequisites: No prior knowledge of Spanish is required. This course is open to young learners at varying levels of language development, providing a welcoming and inclusive introduction to Spanish language and culture. Assessment: Student progress will be assessed through informal observations, participation in interactive activities, and playful assessments designed to gauge comprehension and language acquisition. Emphasis will be placed on joyful engagement and exploration rather than formal testing. Fee(s) Monthly tuition $30 (Aug, Sep, Oct.
