DESCRIPTION: This program is an in-depth exploration of today's cutting edge technologies for 3rd to 5th grades; and provides a structured, engaging environment for older elementary students to explore and learn about technology. In Early Adopters - Mission: Innovation, students become astronauts, practice coding and computer skills, and learn how technology can be used to help enhance a story by designing their own virtual reality world using CoSpaces Pro and bring their own creations to life using coding in the Scratch and MakeCode programs. Please note this class is organized by Jessica Taylor, sponsored through Thrive Preparatory, and taught by Compudopt. Participants will receive a FREE refurbished computer after successfully completing the course.
AGES: 3rd-5th Graders COST: This is a FREE course. There is a $5.00 DCHE Registration Fee (for WiFi) HOW TO REGISTER: - Parent Volunteer Signup for 2 Sessions: Parents must volunteer to stay in the class for 2 of the 10 sessions. After registering for this class, please complete this form to confirm your 2 class sessions.
